FINALly finished!

Another academic year come and gone.  They always fly by so quickly, and I can't believe it's my first week of summer vacation already.  It feels great to be done, to finally see semesters worth of work in the making now fully realized.
Here are some work in progress sketches and photos from this semester that informed the development of my final projects:

These ceramic pieces are my most proud works of the semester.  I put so much into these pieces and couldn't be happier with the results...

Stoneware with oxide washes, wood, string, assorted fabrics, LED light

Stoneware with majolica 04 glaze, spray foam, red liquid rubber, plant

Bisqued terracotta, cactus

Terracotta, plastic bags, yarn, wood.

*Numba 1 Stunna*

Had my final photo class of the semester today.  It's been a long, sometimes rough, journey through the class, but definitely worth it.  The reception of the work went well, but one was a unanimous success.  The cherry on top of my final collection of photographs--

Rediscovered Collaboration

When visiting my good friend and fellow artist, Randall Wayne Parker (http://randallwayneparker.com/), I rediscovered this drawing we'd done together my first year in Chicago.  We lived across the hall from one another in the dorm and did many collaborative projects as neighbors.  His contribution is on the left and mine's the right.  I suppose we'll have to put our heads together for a title now...

This one goes out to all the mamas--

In honor of Mother's Day I'm posting my most favorite mother and child painting, by Gustav Klimt.  It is so gentle, caring and beautiful...just like the best mom I know.

I love you, mother ♡

New acquisitions :)

Happy May Day!! Found some real gems to ring in this month.  New wedges I will be wearing all summer, every summer for the rest of my life and this much needed desk so conveniently sitting in the alley next to my apartment.  They're perfect fits.
